Quality control at Chiranjiv Steel Centre starts before a plate enters our stock. We match every plate to its mill test certificate for grade, heat number, plate number, thickness and supply condition, and we review the chemical and mechanical test results on that certificate. The plate keeps its identity through cutting and loading. Every cut piece you receive stays linked to its heat and its certificate.

Certification
Every plate we stock carries dual certification to ASTM A516 Grade 70 and ASME SA-516 Grade 70 as standard.
EN 10204 Type 3.1
Mill Test Certificate
A 3.1 certificate accompanies each consignment. It records the material specification, heat number, chemical composition, mechanical properties and supply condition of the plate.
HIC Testing to
NACE TM0284
We hold HIC-tested heats in stock, and we arrange fresh testing when an order calls for it. The NACE TM0284 report for each heat gives the Crack Length Ratio (CLR), Crack Thickness Ratio (CTR) and Crack Sensitivity Ratio (CSR). Your order sets the acceptance limits those values must meet.
- Mill Test Certificates conforming to EN 10204 3.1 accompany each consignment; third-party witnessed EN 10204 3.2 certification is available on request.
- HIC tested heats come with the NACE TM0284 test report for that heat, giving the CLR, CTR and CSR values.
- Ultrasonic Testing per ASTM A435 or A578 to check for internal flaws
- Charpy V-Notch Impact Testing on coupons cut from stock plates
- Positive Material Identification (PMI) to verify chemistry on-site
Supply Condition
Stock plate is supplied in the as-rolled condition. The mill test certificate states the supply condition for every plate.
Approved Mills
We source plate from approved primary mills. Each produces plate to the chemical and mechanical requirements of A516 Grade 70, and the certificate with your consignment names the mill that rolled it.
