Alloy 28 is a multi-purpose austenitic stainless steel specially designed for service in a highly corrosive atmosphere. This grade possesses excellent corrosion resistance in strong acids. Also, it is excellently resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting, and crevice corrosion. The Alloy 28 Plate has excellent weldability and can be welded using conventional and traditional welding methods. The austenitic microstructure of these plates gives them high impact strength between a wide temperature ranges from cryogenic to room temperature. Alloy 28 Plate from Chiranjiv Steel are suitable for applications up to 600 °C (1110 °F). These plates cannot be used above this temperature because intermetallic phase precipitation in alloy causes embrittlement.

Alloy N08028 Sheets are made from an alloy of iron, chromium, and nickel, with a specific composition of elements to give it its unique properties. The exact composition can vary slightly depending on the manufacturer, but typically it contains high levels of chromium (20-25%) and nickel (10-15%) to give it good resistance to corrosion & high-temperature performance. Other elements, such as molybdenum and nitrogen, may also be added to enhance their properties.
The difference between ASTM B709 Alloy 28 Plates and Alloy 31 Plates lies in their composition and properties. Alloy 28 Plates have a unique combination of high chromium & nickel content which provides them with superior resistance to corrosion & high-temperature performance compared to other Alloy 31 Plates. This makes Alloy 28 Plates suitable for use in harsh & demanding environments.
The high chromium and nickel content of Alloy 28 Hot Rolled Plates gives them excellent resistance to corrosion & good overall performance in harsh and corrosive environments. They are also resistant to intergranular corrosion. These Sheets are capable of withstanding high temperatures and have good mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength and good toughness.
